I did not come across any indication of the site(s) selected for the competition.
Are we free to choose a site? Is there a limit to the size and scope of the project?
No site has been selected for the competition. There are no limitations regarding size or scope of projects and sites.
You are invited to choose and propose. Furthermore, as this is a design ideas competition, you can even propose unreal sites or projects.
Are there any guidelines about the criteria for choosing a site?
No guidelines have been pre-set.
You are welcome and invited to choose and propose sites and projects, based on your ideas and chosen criteria.
** Towards MidEastPan - a Design Ideas competition - is being held in order to animate a discussion leading to the Forum of Themes and Sites in the coming September and in order to invite, to map, to form and to present ideas, themes and sites for MidEastPan's first session that will begin in January 2010.
We are not based in the Middle East.
Can we participate in this competition?
The competition is now open to any individual or team.
Towards MidEastPan is indeed a Design Ideas Competition; an open invitation for any idea or project proposal within the Built Environment in the Middle East.
i.e. as long as your idea or project proposal addresses the Built Environment in the Middle East, you are invited to enter the competition.
I would like to enter the competition but because I don't have an international credit card I can't pay the registration fees online. What should I do?
You may consider the option of arranging for someone else - a collaborator, colleague or friend - to pay for your registration online with her credit card; You, identified by your Username or Email address, will be assigned with a competition entrant status after payment (by anyone for this matter) is completed.
Please note that with MoneyBookers you don't have to be a credit card holder in order to pay online, as they also support money transfer and checks.
What is the mail address to which the A1 sheet is to be sent?
The mail address for the submitted material will be published on July 13th.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
To reset your password, please go through the following procedure:
1. In the site, click 'reset password' (located at the top of the page).
2. Enter your username or email address and click 'E-mail password resetting instructions'.
* this is to ensure that it is the account holder (identified by her username or email address)
that will be resetting the password.
3. Shortly after you'll receive an email.
4. Click on the link in the email or copy and paste it in your browser.
5. Click the 'Log in' button.
6. You will be redirected to your member page.
7. Set / change your password.
* to change your password, enter a new password in both password fields (you don't need to
enter your existing password).
8. Don't forget to click 'Save' in order to save your changes.
Who owns MidEastPan?
MidEastPan is an independent Middle Eastern open platform - a nonprofit democratic grassroots organisation - owned and led by its open community.
A project for the purpose of cultural, social and environmental gain, MidEastPan was conceived by a
Tel Aviv - Yaffo based gang focused on Architecture, community and sustainability.

MidEastPan’s mission is to foster an alternative of cross-fertilization and transparent, intelligent, innovative and formfitting cooperation in the making of appropriate, successful, and sustainable places in the Middle East.
Our goals, as an open community, are:
- To help towns, communities and developers to find and utilize innovative solutions for sustainable
development and the appropriate transformation of places in the Middle East.
- To connect and bring together designers, thinkers and entrepreneurs from the Middle East and to
publicize and develop their ideas.
- To build and sustain a Middle Eastern platform for communication, discussion and cooperation in the
fields of Architecture and the Built Environment.
